@KatMerchant14 Haha, yall only lift weights to look the part. But psychologically weak. You were an athlete turned to fitness because you couldnt make it as an athlete. Like most in the fitness industry, you're all fake assholes

The impact of trolling on mental health-
One of my IG reels reached the wrong side of social media and I've been receiving a lot of horrible comments.
A lot of them telling me I look manly and I should stay off social media if comments offend me.
I've got to be honest, waking up to 100's of comments- half of which are hurtful does have an effect. And I've felt pretty low for a few days.
But I'm not going to 'get off social media'.
My content is supposed to send a positive message about strength. I get lovely messages from people saying that the fitness content has helped or inspired them as well as parents messaging me saying their daughters want to grow up to be strong.
This is a huge part of why I keep posting, I want young girls to have strong women role models.
I don't want sporty girls to feel self conscious of their bodies like I did as an athletic kid. I want girls to know that they can achieve amazing things and for boys to see that too.
Trolling is sadly part of social media BUT they need to be accountable for the things they say online.
So rather than feeling down, I'm posting a photo where I felt strong and confident. This woman doesn't let trolls stop her...

@John05591910584 @KatMerchant14 Wait so you’re saying that you aren’t going to immediately stop training and lose muscle so that John05591910584 will want to do you? Seems rude.

@KatMerchant14 Well you are the one posting for attention and likes online. I’m just telling you the truth. Most normal men that don’t have a weird fetish think your body is gross. 🤮 Keep posting for attention…I’ll keep spitting facts. Your hubby has fetish for women that look like men. 🤷♂️

Feeling grateful for surviving rock bottom and coming out the other side…
I was sat at dinner looking over at Mike (my husband of 1 week) and it hit me.
I’m so happy.
I’ve shared my journey before about how broken I was after medically retiring from rugby and going through a horrendous breakup during lockdown.
It left me with zero confidence in myself.
I don’t just mean lacking confidence in how I looked (I couldn’t even look in a mirror).
But lacking confidence in my abilities and my value as a person- I didn’t believe in myself enough to apply for jobs or go to events I was invited to.
Mike has helped me step by step come through the other side.
He helped me to be confident in my body rather than embarrassed of my muscles.
He patiently coached me to have a better relationship with food.
He’s challenged me to push myself in my career whilst also supporting me.
As a result I feel valued and I’ve been able to thrive.
This isn’t supposed to be a soppy post about Mike as that’s not our style but I wanted to share the message that if you aren’t feeling valued the ‘problem’ isn’t you- it could be your environment or not having the right people around you.
Ultimately YOU need to feel good in yourself but appreciate having people in your life that can help you.

‘You must be on roids’
I still get this daily.
To clarify for those who don’t know my background- I played in 4 rugby world cups and have trained with intensity for over 20 years.
But that doesn’t stop the armchair ‘experts’ saying that women can’t achieve my physique naturally.
We can and we do!
These photos are taken 2 days apart- pretty certain no one is accusing me of being on roids in the photo on the right.
A gym pump goes a looong way. As does knowing your angles.
If you want to get so jacked people accuse you of being on roids comment ‘coach’ and we’ll chat about my 1-1 coaching programme ‘Thrive’

A great effort from the team against a strong Rushden & Higham side. Well batted @MikeWalkerPT and well bowled once again to the man they call Gary Barrett.
Thanks to Rushden & Higham for a great game & excellent tea. Next stop, Wansford 🚂🏏

“You can't lose weight and enjoy food."
That's the biggest lie in fitness.
Last month, my client Helen proved it wrong:
↳ Lost 8lbs
↳ Attended 3 dinner parties
↳ Had wine with friends twice
↳ Hadn't even started counting calories
The secret?
We changed her approach completely.
Instead of:
• Restrictive meal plans
• Banned foods
• Weekend guilt
• Social isolation
We focused on:
↳ Energy-boosting foods (that she actually enjoys)
↳ Strategic social meals (planned, not restricted)
↳ Daily habits that compound
↳ Mood & motivation techniques
The result?
Weight loss became the side effect of feeling good.
Most people get this backwards.
They sacrifice happiness for results.
Then wonder why they can't stick to it.
Truth is:
Enjoyment drives consistency.
Consistency drives results.
Because you shouldn't have to choose between results and happiness.
P.S. This isn't about "earning" treats or "cheating" - it's about building a lifestyle that works FOR you, not against you.

39 and hitting lifetime PR's I couldn't hit at 25.
The truth about fitness after 35:
It's not a fight against aging.
My best gains came from 35-39.
And I've helped hundreds of people in their 30s, 40s, and 50s get in peak shape.
What actually made me stronger:
1. Consistency Matters More Than Intensity
↳ Small daily actions will always beat sporadic huge efforts
↳ Show up. Do the work. Repeat.
2. Smart Strength Training is Non-Negotiable
↳ Building muscle is critical after 35
↳ Compound movements, fewer but better
3. Nutrition is About Fuel, Not Restriction
↳ Fuel performance
↳ Quality > Quantity
4. Recovery Is No Longer A Luxury
↳ Sleep is your secret weapon
↳ Active recovery keeps you moving
5. Mindset is the Ultimate Edge
↳ It's your data, not your destiny
↳ Experience lets you train smarter, not harder
Want to know exactly how I help busy professionals build strength after 35?
Repost this post and I'll send you my Over 35s Strength Training Blueprint.
