We @SaarinenMilla and Tatiana Ryba wrote this paper because generational thinking can be unhelpfully reductive, crowding out other more reasonable explanations & the complex interaction of factors that more accurately account for young people’s attitudes and behaviour in sport.

I successfully defended my #PhD on Friday & officially became Dr Shakiba Moghadam (sub to minor corrections!). Working multiple jobs alongside my PhD & managing life changing events has been emotionally draining to say the least, but I'm beyond grateful to be where I am today.

Lots made about culture in sport and in particular what is attributed to cultures with a high win rate.
Books have been sold and careers made on the cultures that all should copy in the pursuit of winning.
But those worked in sport need to proceed with greater caution…
