@scoutingindoors Rest of the league isn’t very good atm. Hes a good coach but a horrible player manager. Actually managed to ruin and run so many players into the ground. He could do much better if he wasn’t safety first especially when the pressure rises he believes only in his favourites.

@scoutingindoors Agree. The club has done very poorly with the academy. Rarely do we even see loans. My biggest issue with Arteta and players like mls and Nwaneri is him selling them for pure profit to buy hardworking average players. His talent ID isn’t good. At best should loan both.

@Mikegoonermike A modern academy simply provides players for the first team or provides players to sell for profit. Plenty of great Hale End assets in the first team currently and in the wings. Despite that the club have done a poor job of building the value of academy players over the years

Ultimately, Ethan has Eze, Odegaard and Merino to fight for the #10 spot. Even if you sold Odegaard, that's still two players left. And he is not exactly the same level of athlete as a Foden or Endrick to justify.

When you sell academy players, you’re supposed to sell the ones who would only ever be on the fringes of your squad or never likely to be a starter. Both of these are insanely high potential talents. They’re the ones you make sure you nurture, unless you’re a fuckin idiot
