Looks like Storm Eowyn has produced the strongest winds ever recorded in Ireland. Both the gust and sustained wind speed records, set 80 years ago, appear to have been broken, The anemometer has now broken!

21:35 recovery vehicle via Dudly arrives (WR4) to collect car and driver. 8+ hours for an elderly, vulnerable lady to be stranded...not on! I hope you are refunding her membership at the least! Very dissapointing @RAC_Care @TheRAC_UK Hope the @TheAA_UK is better.

For anyone interested, the single elderly lady is stranded and has been since 13:30 it is now 20:23 and still there in the cold. I've made her a drink and invited the use of the loo, but can not the car unattended as it won't lock. Very poor service @RAC_Care @TheRAC_UK

@RAC_Care @TheRAC_UK I have an elderly lady who is broken down outside my house and been there since 13:30 waiting for your mechanic. It is freezing and she has no heating in the car and I believe they are now quoted 22:00-01:00 tonight. Is that really acceptable? #vulnerable
