April Poetry Month Entry: "Saturday" Birds chirp, sun rise, look out the window and smell the grass. Freshly cut, waits for our feet, ground soon to be in our hands as we garden together.

April Poetry Month Entry: "say what you mean" Time sensitive but it's feelings aren't hurt if I miss, ours are. Breaking news stays intact but breaks my heart. A blessing in disguise is more a slow boil or a double-edged blade, slicing while applying the gauze, and those burnt bridges never crumble completely, their ropes singed into my skin eternally, a scar, leaving me not under the weather but rather fully enveloped in the storm.

April Poetry Month Entry: "Echo" When did I get this old? Did I get this old? ...when? I get this, kind of, I mean, I'm not that old yet, fuckin hell. Get this, I hate when I yell at the dog, My toddler imitates me yelling at the dog and shit I wonder if he'll do that at school you know yell at people probably if I keep doing it I don't yell at him cuz I don't want to reinforce yelling yet here I am yelling at the dog My mom used to yell at the dog. My wife yells at the dog. I hate that I hate the yelling I hate other kids yelling and the fact that my kiddo might pick up yelling from those kids I hate too many things I should stop hating so much I didn't use to hate little things like I do now I used to hate big things things you could rage against like hating those big kids bullying my friends on the playground hating the fact that they don't fucking pay us enough at our barista jobs hating the damn fucking government hating damn fucking society now I just hate when the neighbors are too loud I hate these creaking bones I hate that panic I get at night that the cigarettes and drugs and drinking might catch up to me in a few years and damn my knees hurt can I still dance like I did in college and my son will never have a smartphone damn kids and their smartphones I'm on mine too much when my son's around damn me and my damn smartphone and my son yelling for my attention cuz I was talking to an adult at the moment about something I read on my smartphone and I'm trying to set a good example but damn I'm going to bed at 9:30 and my brother-in-law who's not 21 yet says he'll look like me in ten years but fuck will I ever feel old? I felt old a minute ago when I didn't know a new slang term. And my knees hurt. and I had to pee again this hour. and I opened and closed and opened again the same app on my damn smart phone. I used to know T9. I used to save a document every fifteen minutes for fear of losing it, and emailing a picture taken on my phone was mind-blowing. I used to use encyclopedias. I used to have to really search for shit if I needed it, and when I found it, I could have been the only one to have ever found this page, or this website, or this bug on this stone in the woods. Still feel like I just caught the echo of my mom screaming at the dog as I eat the mac and cheese she made me on summer break before I'm allowed to go over to my first sleepover maybe she'll let me take the gameboy in the car probably not though I'll have to just stare out the window.
