For those interested in trying Snakeman in Extra Regulation, here are some quick tips for the Enel matchup 👊 If we win the dice roll, we always choose to go first. This is definitely our hardest matchup, similar to how Imu felt in OP14. However, unlike OP14 where we often tried to pressure life quickly, here our goal is to FULL STARVE early game in order to deny extra cards and slowly drain the opponent’s hand. The most important card in the matchup is definitely Sanji, since it allows us to develop 2 Big Monsters at once. This is crucial because Enel will almost always be able to remove one of them with Gamma Knife. The best character to summon with Sanji is Roger, because turning our Leader into 8k makes defending our lives much easier. If we don’t already have Sanji in hand or among the 5 cards we see with Leader effect, we should add the card we currently need the most and bottom deck the rest in order to cycle toward Sanji faster. If the opponent misses 6c Enel on curve and we manage to reach 8 DON!! and activate our Leader effect while there is no Enel on board, we can start attacking life once we establish 2 Big Monsters. In that situation, the opponent cannot both play 6c Enel and remove one of our characters in the same turn.Going first, our goal is either: • Triple Ramp • or Double Ramp (one at 3 DON!! and another at 6 DON!!) If we only hit Double Ramp, a very strong transition turn before activating Leader effect is: Nami / Rosinante / Boa + Thunder Bagua or Gear 2. If we don’t have access to Sanji turns or Roger + 2 DON!! open, but already control Big Monsters on board, we simply begin our Wall Rotation turns: • Nami + open DON!! to protect our board/lives • Use remaining DON!! either to attack opposing characters when their hand is low, or pressure face to set up lethal within 2 turns.
