This has been on my mind lately. I had a long conversation with David Lee at the airport about this. David is the director of the Interventional Cardiology program at Stanford - and as wise as he is accomplished academically. We agreed that time has a way of passing us by. We don’t realize it because we are always looking outward. Sometimes it takes another person (or perhaps a major event) for us to look ‘from the outside in’. The Buddhists has a lot(!) to say about this. I am not sure I have the answer of how to reliably gain insight. But good sleep, time away from work, and physical exertion outdoors seem to be a good start! 😀
