Bomber Run 63 - Ops Beginning Again? #IranWar‌ #FreeIran‌ Overnight, B-1B "Lancer" bombers flying from RAF Fairford (EGVA) conducted strikes in Iran as the US ramps up operations again. Although 2 bombers launched, it appears it was pre-planned that only 1 of them would actually fly the combat mission into Iran, with the second airframe returning to RAF Fairford as scheduled around 6hrs after departure. As with previous missions, once the bombers get into CENTCOM, identifying which tankers refuel them in theatre is tricky at best hence the gap for the return flight! Tanker Fleet Update #IranWar‌ It's been quite a while since I've done one of these (over 6 weeks) due to external factors, so my list was fairly out-of-date when I came back to it. I've spent part of the last 24hrs updating it all, resulting in the following: 217 tankers of note: - 97 in CENTCOM - 77 in Europe - 41 recently returned to the US (since 6th July) - 2 exact locations unknown On top of this, a further 59 airframes returned to CONUS from Iran Ops more than 2 weeks ago, and a further 4 airframes have been confirmed destroyed or damaged.
