My book “Feminist Antisemitism: An Intellectual History” is out from Routledge in June. It’s about how, as different versions of feminism competed, a feminism that does *not* seek mainstream goals like equal rights or treatment has become predominant. It stars Angela Davis, Judith Butler, Weather-Underground-affiliated whites who advocate for armed revolution and universal childcare, queer and trans antizionists who are against having rights, the socialists who invented Women’s Studies, toxic Twitter feminists, and many more. It shows how feminists turned Jews into the paradigmatic “white women” or “white feminists” that other minorities should shun; how Black and Palestinian women became the feminist vanguard (and synonymous); how byzantine lesbian speech ethics from the 1980s took over feminism decades before anyone knew the names Kendi and DiAngelo; and how intersectionality morphed from a theory that wasn’t great for Jews into one that explicitly targeted them. It features @Phyllischesler, who understood when antisemitism rebranded as antizionism; the UN conference dominated by terrorist Leila Khaled; and much more. It is edited by @DavidHirsh, a part of the @centre_as Studies in Contemporary Antisemitism series, and available for preorder now.

@MurielBlaivePhD Iran’s been running a proxy war against Israel and US allies for decades, with its "proxy armies" like Hizballah, Hamas and the Houthis all over the place. So it's not really a fair comparison at all.

I was going to say, I'm irritated by the left-wing Western intellectuals who curiously blame Ukraine for being attacked by Russia, but don't blame Iran for being attacked by the US - in the second case, miraculously, they do notice that the one at fault is the attacker, not the attacked. But in the role of the blind and deaf, I now give you Western politicians, who rightly blamed Russia for attacking Ukraine, but now incomprehensibly blame Iran for being attacked by the US. We sure as hell never run out of people who politicize everything to the point of absurdity, do we... ^^
Arnaud Bertrand@RnaudBertrand

France, Germany and the UK "condemn Iranian attacks" and "urge the Iranian leadership to seek a negotiated solution." Pure Orwell.

Message from Iran: This is Marvdasht. People are in the streets. The Islamic Republic is brutally cracking down. With every young person the Islamic Republic kills, our anger grows stronger. We must win, otherwise Khamenei will slaughter us all and hang us. Let the world hear our voice. They have slowed down the internet and may cut it off completely, so they can kill us more easily.

Over 24 hours: A Muslim killed 3 Americans in Syria. 5 Muslims arrested for plotting a massacre at a Christmas market in Germany. Paris concert cancelled due to Muslim violence. 2 Muslims murdered 12 people at a Hanukkah party in Australia. Islamophobia is getting out of control!

Jews were murdered in Sydney today for coming together to celebrate Chanukah on the beach, in the open, and with joy. It's time for our governments to wake up. This is what it means to “Globalize the Intifada.” It's time for Australia's government—and those in London, Paris, Ottawa, and elsewhere—to stop appeasing and enabling those who seek to kill Jews. On October 7th, terrorists attacked Jews on the holiday of Simchat Torah. In Manchester two months ago, they attacked a synagogue on Yom Kippur. Today in Sydney they attacked Jews celebrating Chanukah. Today we grieve. But the eternal message of Chanukah is that tyrants do not win. Chanukah exists because Jews refused to hide, refused to bow, refused to disappear. As they have done for millennia, Jews will continue to gather, celebrate holidays, and return to joy. Because light has always prevailed over darkness, and always will.

If anyone asks you why anti-Zionism is antisemitism, show them this. Antisemitism isn’t just prejudice. It’s an ideology that Jewish power is standing between the world and utopia. Solve the Jewish problem, redeem the world. It’s just been transplanted onto the Jewish state.

@MurielBlaivePhD The Pirate Party (supported by the Greens) is a modern left-wing party. Babiš’s party is more of a traditional left-wing successor to the Social Democrats (even though led by the oligarch).

There are no left-wing MPs anymore in the new Czech parliament. For the country that had the highest number of communist party members per capita in 1989 — and, in 1946, the only country to have freely voted the communists into power — this is quite a feat. After 1989, the former communists melted into the structures of the new order — some into business, some into right-wing populism, some into political apathy. The Social Democrats survived a few decades longer but are now extinct as well. But we need real opposition if politics is to work well. The disappearance of the left is not just a local party crisis but a civilizational question: how can democracy thrive if half of its spectrum — the side that insists politics must speak for the weak — is erased from the stage? Not a good omen for the rest of Europe and of the Western world. irozhlas.cz/volby/parlamen…

Oh dear - listening to Yascha Mounk presenting, and when he explained that in the US political correctness actually played against public health during Covid because old people are white while younger people are more black and brown and so in the deliberate decision to fight against racism, vaccine priority was given to "essential workers" rather than to old people, the conference was interrupted by people loudly protesting from the audience... In 2025!! NB: Then he was interrupted a second time for daring to criticize US liberals... And now under fire in the Q&A... humanitiesfestival.at/mounk

We must massively raise the costs of Russia’s aggression. Europe needs to consider how the Russian central bank’s assets frozen in Europe can be confiscated and made available for the defence of Ukraine. I propose this in an article in the Financial Times. 1/8

Russia is radicalizing and militarizing its next generation, preparing it for future wars of aggression. The whole society is sick with fascism and imperialism. It's more than a "Putin problem."
Anton Gerashchenko@Gerashchenko_en

Many people in Europe are skeptical about Russia's intentions to attack Europe. They believe that Putin (Russia) will be satisfied with just Ukraine. That is why even some politicians and intellectuals voice the call to "give Ukraine to Putin" and thus "save Europe." This outlook is wrong. And it is very dangerous, above all for European countries. The truth is that Putin has turned Russia into a war machine that is very difficult to stop. And he does not want to stop it because the current regime survives only thanks to war. Arguments on this subject are presented by the OpenMinds research project: ◾️ Russia has switched to a war economy, and the reversal process is extremely difficult; ◾️ growing amounts of intelligence indicate hybrid, cyber, and information operations, as well as sabotage attempts in Europe; ◾️ consolidation, increasing influence, and coordination of the authoritarian axis and its satellite states. ‼️ But there is another important argument that is often overlooked: ◾️ Russia's preparation of a new militarized generation. Moscow has normalized war for younger generations of Russians. Russian propaganda has already turned Ukrainians into "Nazis and fascists" - subhumans who must be killed. Now it is doing the same with Europeans. A new OpenMinds investigation, "Kids with Drones," analyzed how stories involving children are spread on Russian social media to promote war. The most important findings include the integration of drone piloting programs into schools, camps, and even kindergartens, alongside the normalization of a narrative of existential confrontation with the West. OpenMinds analyzed 30,000 posts across 4,000 Telegram channels. Here are the conclusions: ◾️ In just the first seven months of 2025, there were 8,600 unique posts about involving children in work/training with drones - six times more than in the whole of 2022. This means that it is not only the existence of such programs that is important, but also the work of information campaigns to normalize them in society and create a new paradigm of upbringing. ◾️ More than 2,000 posts in July set a record since the start of the full-scale invasion. One of the most widely shared stories was the opening of infrastructure for drone 'competitions' in six kindergartens in Perm. ◾️ It's not only about Russian children. Drone programs are also being promoted among Ukrainian children in the occupied territories — 963 posts were found about tournaments and learning sessions, often organized by Russian military personnel. ◾️ About one-third of the posts relate to education - lessons and courses ranging from kindergarten classes to the "Cadres for UAVs" federal program within the framework of University 2035. And in May, the education ministry even released a textbook for 8th-9th grade students with guides on how to control FPV drones. The full report can be viewed at the link: openminds.ltd/reports/kids-w….

This is not a conflict the West can survive by playing passive defense. The first rational step would be to provide Ukraine, the only country actually taking risks for the rest of Europe, with the means to destroy Russia’s drone-making industries.
Janis Kluge@jakluge

Question to military experts: What could NATO do if Russia started an attack with 10.000 or even 100.000 Shahed/Gerbera/decoy drones at the same time, targeting dozens of European cities? Is there any defense? Because Russia could easily produce that amount in a few months.
