Overnight, @TheSteinLine reported the Pistons are “evaluating the prospect of pursuing Demar Derozan.” The best offer DET could make to DDR would be a vet min. The cap hit would be $2.45m. In spite of their roster crunch, if he would accept the backup 4 role, I’d be for this.

@NukeDuren @___Drizz He’s going to be very expensive for a role player with no accomplishments/accolades for the defense he plays also he was out most of last season. Paul reed just out played on both ends in the playoffs plus he’s cheaper/younger than Stewart.

@NukeDuren @___Drizz He wasn’t impactful in both of our playoff appearances both times hurt with lower body injuries. He was getting torched especially in game 7 against the Cavs. The issue is Jalen Duren can carry us through the regular season and Stewart can’t plus he’s due for another contract.

If the reports from @ChrisBHaynes on Jalen Duren wanting out of Detroit are true, then try to facilitate the 22 year old All-Star center's exit to the Bucks youth movement.
Because Duren is receiving a raise exceeding 20%, his sign & trade triggers the BYC rule. That means Detroit can only count 50% of his $35 million first-year salary ($17.5 million) as outgoing salary in the sign & trade.
A third team would be necessary to dump Duncan Robinson's salary to for salary matching purposes. Pistons receive a shot blocking, floor spacer at center and a legit replacement for Duncan.
End the drama and move on. Cut the 1st round pick if you have to, just get him out of here. I will build a Pelicans trade as well.

- Cade and Sabonis pick and pop would be lethal. Also the passing ability of Sabonis would open up so many areas for Detroit. On top of creating space and not being able to double Cade when a guy like Sabonis can hit jumpers consistently if you don’t respect him.
