Fanatics really has this space in a blender right now. They have high end breakers, "partners" as they call them, overleveraged with overpriced product not all of them can move. They have other breakers BEGGING to be in that position not knowing what it really looks like. And then you have the "good ones" who just haven't been squeezed enough yet by topps to pass it to their customers "community" yet. These guys have a shrinking allocation but less overhead than the major players, so as long as there is some form of allocation, they will survive.... until fanatics pushes those cases to bigger operations who buy more. More direct breakers will fail, more break customers will end up in financial trouble, and everyone involved will smile and say everything is great, until their spigot turns off. I dead ass miss joining breaks with people who dont take themselves so seriously, the people with succulents on their break table, and not a laser light show. The dudes with a bingo ball spinning to select the random teams. The breaks where a $30 cash app was the barrier of entry. Now I need 4 accounts on 3 platforms, 2 promo codes, and $122, just for me to get a base pack from a retail box as a "sorry" lol Breaking brought me into this space. It was this fun and magical thing that "normal" people did as a hobby and side hustle. It felt more like splitting a pizza with your boys than it did going to the casino. I can't tell you the last break I joined. For the products I want, the only feasible options are fanatics special ones on their special platform. This was fanatics plan all along. They have starved out most "normal" people, and all that remains are paid partners and people gambling for a "chase" The hobby is far from "dead", but I can tell you the days of breaking outside of fanatics ecosystem are on life support. "I wish there was a way to know you were in the good old days, before you actually leave them" -P

This is a tweet from @CardPurchaser, an account with over 100,000 followers, spreading lazy misinformation and surface-level generalizations about repacks. People in the hobby see tweets like this and take them as fact… meanwhile, he’s making bold claims about a part of the hobby he clearly doesn’t understand. When you have a platform that big, saying reckless stuff like this while also HIDING POSTS from people disagreeing with him or talking about @heatersrepack or other repacks in a good way, does real damage to the hobby and is flat-out irresponsible. If you’re going to speak on something with that kind of reach, do the work to understand it first or at least have the integrity to allow both sides to be seen. 🤙🏻
