90+% of Canada's alcohol exports go to the US. Please explain why you spent 75 mil on that Reagan ad that derailed last October's negotiations when we were close to a deal? The Reagan ad clipped, rearranged, and omitted the part about Japanese semiconductors. Very misleading.

Read it again, champ. "I'm not fan of supply management BUT..." then he lists off a list of excuses for Canada having it given the US lists of AG subsidies. Then use your brain to reflect on Kenney's (and all CPC, to be honest) time in government and their catering to the dairy cartels. There isn't a party in this country that will do away with supply management, and it's an absolute pathetic disgrace it still exists.

I’m no fan of supply management, Brad. But: - the last Trump administration accepted Canadian supply management in “the best trade agreement ever,” with subsequent US dairy exports to Canada remaining well below the quotas laid out in CUSMA; - the US does not approach this issue with clean hands. Free market think tanks estimate that US government provides over $20 billion in direct & indirect subsidies to US big dairy. Ever hear of “government cheese?” - the US has a far broader range of policies protecting their ag sector than Canada does, including rigid quotas for export of corn & sugar to the US that are embedded in CUSMA. Not to mention all the ancillary issues, e.g. prejudicial tariffs on our softwood, steel, aluminum, etc. - USTR Jameson Grier has been clear that whatever ad hoc concessions Canada makes (eg repealing the Digital Services Tax, certain retaliatory tariffs, etc.) get zero credit in CUSMA renewal negotiations; The notion that Canada should respond to every provocation with panicked concessions without reciprocity from the US is, to be polite, counter productive. If the Trump administration wants to revisit the supply management quotas it accepted eight years ago, fair ball. Then we get to discuss that in the context of their dairy subsidies, their import quotas on ag products, their other tariffs, etc.. If they want guaranteed access to the Canadian liquor market, fine. But then we get to negotiate that while demanding guaranteed access to US government procurement, contra Buy America provisions; or guaranteed access to their beef market contra COOL, etc. All of this belongs at the negotiating table, rather than Canada pathetically capitulating to the latest US threats and demands. That’s even more clearly the case when dealing with a counter party who has said that his strategy is to “use economic force” to annex Canada.

Incoming rage post. May delete later. Could use advice from fellow girl dads. My wife homeschools. She does a great job. My girls do extra curricular activities like jiu-jitsu and other fun stuff. Yesterday we dropped my 5 year old daughter off at some summer day camp thing for children. She's going for a few hours every day this week. She came home telling us she had a wonderful time except for one part. Some boy kept following her around, being mean to her, and TOUCHING her butt. She told me she told him to stop and move away from him but he grabbed her and pulled her back and continued to touch her against her will. She told me she could point the boy out and described him as a little boy her size with brown skin. Now I get to deal with the nightmare of many California parents. Some shit culture that doesn't respect women has invaded the area I reside in and has now affected my daughters life. This is how I've chosen to handle it today. In about 2 hours I'm dropping her off again. We will be informing the adult staff about yesterday's incident. I told my daughter that telling the adults PROBABLY won't fix the situation. I know the kind of adults that pervades California. Weak ineffectual pathetic bottom feeders who are more concerned about social correctness than my daughters safety. I told my daughter if that boy touches her again today after we've let the adults know that she has my permission and every right to break that little boy's arm. Keylock, kimura, arm bar. Her choice. This seemed to calm all her little fears. Shes trained for this. I'm raising my daughters to fix their own problems, not be victims. If this is the first arm she collects, so be it.
