Obviously, according to the rule book, it is correctly a HR. My stance is more so that the rule shouldn’t be what it is.

@Miles_Johnson_ Side netting down the baseline has taken this away, but this used to happen once or twice a week on foul balls. It’s the same principal. A player winds up in the seats after making a catch. But we only go through the discourse when it’s a home run.

I assume not but maybe there’s a rule where your feet can’t land outside the field of play and *then* catch the ball
And so then I guess that’s the difference

Purely hypothetical, but if someone hit some moonshot that was gonna land in the 3rd row, and by some miracle an OF was fast enough to get to the wall, hop the fence, run to the 3rd row, and catch the ball, would that be an out?
