I always find it funny when Third World folks justify mass migration to the US 🇺🇸 "It's fine to flood your country, but bad if even a few Americans move to mine." It always boils down to: "We're poor, so we have the right to live in America — we're just surviving, like dogs 🐕" As if their poverty is our problem or overrides the negatives their immigration causes lmao And having lived in Latin America for over a decade, I've seen them act hypocritical about this 👇 Meaning they often hate on poor immigrants from other Latin countries too Argentines vs. Paraguayans and Bolivians Mexicans vs. Colombians, Cubans, and Venezuelans Peruvians and Colombians vs. Venezuelans Even if every American moving to Colombia was broke and earning pesos, Colombians would still cry about us living there 😢 Truth is, most people don’t want floods of foreigners in their country — rich or poor, well-behaved or not For some reason, that fact always gets ignored in these conversations It’s natural not to want to feel like a stranger in your own home 💯 And envy is even more natural. If the foreigners have way more money, people get jealous too Envy runs especially deep among Latin Americans and it's why many of them hate on anyone with money 🤑 That's also part of the reason why you sometimes see online Mexicans hating on and calling pochos "gentrifiers" too They come back with dollars and live better than the locals Even though ironically Mexicans have also used the "WE'RE POOR 😭" argument to justify mass immigration lmao To sum it up, the typical attitude you see among Latin Americans online is 👇 1) I’m entitled to live illegally in the US and earn money there. You’re racist if you say no 2) I don’t want gringos living in my country — only as tourists giving me money and going back home (even if tourism raises prices but I'm too dumb to understand that) 3) I don’t want mass poor immigration to my home either 🔥
