@al_mq Yes 🙌🏻! We are not an AND. If we (Spouses and Families) are going to be included then the program or service or support also needs to provide what we need and not just be based around what the Veteran needs.

I think language matters. No need for the “their”. Even less need if families are truly considered stakeholders (rather than an “and”) and the word community is used. See UK example in comments

@AmyJohnsonPhD @AAREBlog @MargRogers11 But you get free housing so stop complaining…. 1-we don’t. 2-reduced rent doesn’t solve all the other challenges that come with defence life. 3-there are so many other points but I’m exhausted from managing 2 kids solo during school holidays while still WFH.

Sentiment is appreciated but a commitment to do more would be even better. Families are fundamental to capability but we haven’t had a comprehensive review of family support policy in over a decade. A global pandemic would seem a good time for Hamilton 2.0 #DefenceFamilies #NFW
