Extremely rare eclipse inside a giant sun halo perfectly centered above the Great Pyramids of Giza. ☀️🌑 The Moon covers the center of the Sun but leaves a bright ring of sunlight around the edge. That “ring” happens because the Moon’s apparent size is slightly smaller than the Sun’s at that moment, so it can’t fully block the solar disk. Higher up, the massive circle is a 22° solar halo. It forms when sunlight passes through hexagonal ice crystals in thin, high clouds (often cirrostratus). The crystals refract the light at a specific angle, so a clean ring appears in the sky around the Sun — sometimes with warm colors on the inner edge. The glow and the sharp rays near the horizon are amplified by low sun angle + haze/ice crystals, which boosts contrast and makes the halo look even larger and more dramatic. When an eclipse and an ice-crystal halo line up like this, it’s basically geometry + atmosphere running at the same time .. one event in space, one event in the sky.
