@Millions Apparently that only applies to verified users which is kind of ironic, if I wanted to shell out $8/month for a blue checkmark I don’t guess I’d need $50 lol
Ten years ago, @kieransoreilly and I were 19 and 20, sleeping on floors and building from hotel rooms, keeping @GifsCom online as it went viral across Reddit and Imgur. We had built a tool that turned YouTube videos into GIFs by hitting YouTube's API. Millions of users created over 10 million GIFs, viewed billions of times, and making fragmented, undocumented APIs usable at scale became our edge.
At @millions, we launched a debit card that took off on TikTok and YouTube (over 1M followers on each). It gave us a direct window into user behavior, and one thing stood out: people did not want to update their payment method. Even loyal users would churn simply because it was too hard to switch cards on file, and that's how @KnotAPIs was born.
Since then, we’ve spent over 200,000 engineering hours building deep merchant connectivity—adding cards, canceling subscriptions, extracting SKU-level data, and enabling agentic shopping, all through authenticated sessions that actually work at scale. That ability to navigate messy systems and make products work reliably became our default setting and laid the foundation for Knot.
Knot now powers the largest card issuers at massive scale. If you’re not working with us, you're increasingly the anomaly. We are the default infrastructure to get cards added to merchants, and SKU-level insights and agentic shopping will be default soon, all powered by our merchant authentication network.
Everyone is talking about AI agents. But intelligence is meaningless if you can’t act on behalf of the user—and quickly. Logging in, placing orders, updating payment information, managing subscriptions, all with user permission, is the hard part. Knot has already solved it.
No redirects. No merchant lift. Real fulfillment on the user's authenticated account.
We didn’t set out to chase trends. We built what was necessary. It’s becoming foundational, and I couldn't be happier to say that Knot is just getting started.
Excited to share that @KnotAPIs is powering @joinonepay's Payment Switching feature, making it effortless for millions of customers to set their OnePay debit card as the default payment method across top merchants.
It’s been awesome to get a firsthand look at how OnePay’s powerful distribution and execution velocity are driving real financial progress for millions, less than two years after being fully available inside of Walmart! In a short period of time, almost 100,000 customers have already used Knot to make OnePay their primary payment method, a testament to their highly engaged customer base and to being one of the fastest growing U.S. fintechs.
Huge shoutout to the OnePay team for their vision and momentum (I particularly like that right after debit card activation you are prompted via full screen to go through Knot). Thank you for having me join your recent leadership session, and and looking forward to seeing what’s next as you go multi-product fast!

Over the past couple of years, @KnotAPIs has been quietly building a suite of merchant connectivity products, and we’re excited to start rolling them out to our customers.
With that being said, I’m thrilled to introduce 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿™!
Knot AccountUpdater allows card issuers using CardSwitcher™ to update cardholder details (card info, name, address, phone) across Knot-connected merchants with a single API call, requiring no effort from the cardholder.
Now, card issuers can seamlessly control the payment instrument on file, whether they want to update users from a debit to a credit card, change processors, or more.
Network solutions handle lost, stolen, and reissued cards effectively, and Knot AccountUpdater excels at cross-network updates and BIN range transitions.
This is just the beginning—AccountUpdater is being rolled out to select beta customers and merchants, laying the groundwork for a suite of future Knot products. Our team has been dedicated to building persistent merchant connectivity to support these innovative solutions, and we’re excited about the impact they will make.
