We’ve been blown away by your support for The Magnificent O’Connors on BBC Radio 4 and BBC Sounds. 🙏 To celebrate, we’ve republished Jimmy O’Connor’s 1976 autobiography, The Eleventh Commandment — a true story of injustice, survival, and the fight against the death penalty.

@MiloOConnor96 really, really gripping listening. Not just for the story itself, but for the reminder that human history is so complicated, as are the people making that history. Good luck to you all.

Arrested in 1941 on flimsy evidence, sentenced to hang, reprieved hours before execution — and a lifelong battle to prove his innocence. A powerful reminder that Britain must never return to capital punishment.

@laceyknickers Spot on! Both of those pubs were his favourite around here and I'm delighted to say they are both still there. Whenever you're over, please let me know. We'll raise a glass in the Wheatsheaf.

Farage has said Putin is the politician he ‘most admires’. Now the former Reform leader in Wales has admitted taking bribes from the Kremlin to peddle pro-Moscow lies & propaganda. We simply cannot trust these plastic patriots with our national security. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…
