My new book, written with the extraordinary undercover investigator "Guy Stanton", is out this week. It tells the story of Beta Projects, the secret Customs unit formed to target the top of the drugs trade. Thanks to all who helped. Available to order now! amazon.co.uk/Betrayer-Under…

Something really new is happening with the Greens. They are being attacked by the right wing press, and hitting back. In fact, they basically say they aren’t credible as a source of news. Meanwhile, they’re still gaining thousands of new members a week and climbing in polls.
YouGov@YouGov

Our latest Westminster voting intention (29-30 March 2026) has the Lib Dems on their lowest figure recorded by YouGov this parliament Reform UK: 23% (no change from 22-23 Mar) Greens: 19% (+1) Conservatives: 19% (+2) Labour: 18% (-1) Lib Dems: 12% (-1)

@NealOKelly @RonOBrien17 @LukewSavage I have looked. The term cropped up in the debate on the Ballot Secrecy Act 2023 but doesn't appear in the act. And that act followed an earlier report 'Securing The Ballot' by Lord Pickles but again his report does not feature the term.

@NealOKelly @RonOBrien17 @LukewSavage Where can we find this "internationally recognised" definition Neal, and which international bodies/countries is it formally recognised by? I can't find it.

@RonOBrien17 @LukewSavage Not at all. The term 'family voting' has existed a lot longer than the Ballot Secrecy Act (2023) and that is what they reported on. They use a consistent, internationally recognised, definition. They never alleged any offences under the 2023 act.

Once upon a time, Labour could produce a political advertisement like this without a great big insincere smirk on its well-fed face.

@NicholasTyrone Your predictions are legendary: 'Ahead of the 2015 Election, Tyrone predicted the LibDems would receive “17%” and the vote share for the two largest parties appeared “on course for an all time low”. The largest parties both increased their vote share while the LDs received 7.9%.'

I predict the Greens will take a lot of local seats off Labour in the major cities, but will wither elsewhere as candidates and voters who were Green because of their environmentalism flee from the left populist agenda - Gaza, trans and communism - being pursued by Polanski.

@ContrarianJolly "If the innocence case was that obvious, Ms. Letby would not be in jail." And yet it is. And she is. I like your work very much but I don't think this is a difficult case. The evidence does not even meet balance of probabilities, let alone surpass reasonable doubt.

If it the innocence case was that obvious, Ms. Letby would not be in jail. If her convictions were straightforward, dozens of experts would not be objecting. It is complicated. There are points on either side. You are more credible, and resilient, if you acknowledge that.

The Letby debate has become so tribal and politicised in that neither side seems able to recognise any flaws or shortcomings in its own positions, however preposterous, and is reduced to rebarbative Sir Humphrey Applebyisms, only with swearing.

@davidjamessmit5 @JabesAllowed "By implication"? Seriously? If it was the prosecutor's case that these were trophies, he would have said it during the trial (though even if he had, what the prosecutor says is not evidence). But he didn't. No one did.

@JabesAllowed Thanks. You will have seen too from my article the prosecutor asking if they were for Letby’s “little collection”. I think it is obvious that the sheets form part of the circumstantial evidence again Letby and that by implication they were “trophies”, as per the court of appeal.

Really enjoyed helping the BBC documentary team with this, a great reconstruction of one of the most interesting and unsual drug trafficking investigations of its time. bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episod…

In recent years, conference motions have been dominated not by debates on rewilding or energy transition or Net Zero, but resolutions on gender identity and the policing of language.

1/28 The Epstein "Birthday Book" is a disturbing read, filled with lots of crass 'jokes' related to the abuse of minors. This is just 1 document of the 300,000 files still sealed about Epstein's trafficking ring. Here are a few damning things I found in a quick skim:

@PrivateEyeNews I’d imagine it’s because no defence expert could actually defend her? The prosecution version of events was strong and well supported

I think of my Vikki, one of the founder members of @WomeninFootball, many times a day. Today, many more times. And I recall one of her favourite quotes, by Eleanor Roosevelt: "A woman is like a tea bag. You never know how strong she is until you put her in hot water." #Lionesses
