Happy Read Across America Week!! 📚🏫 This week, Sgt. Smith, SRO Wutzke, Ofc. Sanchez, and Ofc. Padilla visited Randall Elementary School in celebration of Read Across America Week, a nationwide initiative led by the National Education Association that encourages a love of reading and lifelong learning for children of all ages. Moments like these are all about inspiring young minds, celebrating diverse stories, and reinforcing the importance of reading in and out of the classroom. By bringing books to life and sharing reading time together, we wanted to show students that reading isn't just an assignment, its an adventure!! We enjoyed all the thoughtful questions, the laughter, and of course handing out plenty of stickers. Thank you to the incredible staff and students at Randall Elementary for always welcoming us with open arms. We're already looking forward to the next chapter 📖✨

Protecting our community when it matters most!!🚨🔥 Last Saturday at about 3:13 PM, our Dispatch Center received a call from residents trapped inside a burning apartment near the 550 block of S. Park Victoria Drive. Flames were spreading quickly through the building, and the callers were sheltering on a second-story patio, asking for help. Dispatchers immediately coordinated police and fire response. In less than two minutes, Officer Barragan and Officer Hartley arrived to find the apartment fully engulfed, with smoke and flames pushing outward as the family waited above. With the fire intensifying, the officers quickly assessed the situation and began communicating with the family on the patio. Working together, they guided the parents through the unimaginable, safely dropping their 3-year-old child down to waiting officers below. Moments later, the family dog was also dropped safely. Milpitas Fire personnel arrived shortly after and assisted the remaining residents off the patio, ensuring everyone was safely accounted for. We are incredibly thankful for the calm and courage shown by the residents during such a terrifying moment, and for the seamless teamwork between our dispatchers, officers, and fire personnel. We are grateful to report that no one was seriously injured. 👏🚓🚒

🚔 Teamwork in Action!! 🚔 Last December, our patrol team quickly responded to a vehicle burglary near the 80-Block of Mihalakis Street. Although the suspect had fled before their arrival, officers canvased the area, collected video surveillance, and tracked down initial leads that helped push the case forward. From there, our detectives and Crime Analyst reviewed the footage, analyzed information, and followed up on more leads, resulting in the identification of a 32-year-old from Campbell. A felony arrest warrant was obtained, and the suspect was arrested last Thursday and booked into jail on burglary charges. From patrol to our detectives, crime analyst, and community support, this case shows what happens when we work together to solve crimes! Thank you to everyone who shared surveillance footage. 💙👮‍♂️👮‍♀️
