i forgot about this but honestly i think the best thing we as a community can do right now is continue talking openly about the situation while we wait to see how quackity or the staff decide to address everything, especially since q is most likely still traveling/not online right now. the situation has already become serious enough that i doubt they’ll respond impulsively without discussing things internally first. even during smp1, situations like f_rever’s were not addressed publicly. the exact same day (jan 9) everything happened his name was removed from the official roster and his departure was confirmed on jan 10. but it’s also important to remember that the project has changed a lot since then. both qckity and the team have become noticeably more transparent regarding serious topics, and the organization behind the server feels much more structured now, so the best thing we can do is wait and see how everything is handled. (personally, and obviously this is not any kind of official statement, i genuinely feel like it’s very likely that faris will no longer remain part of the project after everything that has resurfaced.) so in the meantime, i REALLY hope people avoid going into other cc’s chats, comments, or dms to pressure them into speaking about this. the other creators on the server are not responsible for his behavior. i’ve also seen people bringing up the lack of black creators or women on the server, but please remember that invitations can always be sent without creators necessarily accepting them. the server has had black creators and guests before (during purgatory 2) and went genuinely amazing. qckty even said that if people from the community know creators who would actually be interested in joining the project, being vocal about recommending them is the best thing to do! and finally regarding the smp “background check” conversations, the repost faris did on instagram involving the parrot was made on february 26, before the server officially started on march 14, meaning he was most likely already selected by then. and the hard r post people are mentioning was posted on april 1, after he had already joined the server.
