It is our understanding that we can draw lessons and share experiences as we both prepare for the global growth accelerator programme expected to commence in 2023. Malawi being a pathfinder country, collaboration is pivotal to our success

We believe that social protection is very much a Labour related matter and that integrated financing towards its programming is the way to go. The UN is already doing a lot of work with the private sector in this regard through the growth accelerator programme.

We acknowledge and are grateful for the help we get from the Development Partners and the donor community at large that make our work as government easier and help us reach more people with various programs [Thread…]

@kbg_nyalimuzik will be speaking on the role of the creative industry in job creation. These are the kind of conversations we should be having in an ever evolving world where creatives are doing the most.

This coming Thursday we hold the joint sector review on the job creation strategy, under the theme “ A Pro-Employment/Development Agenda: Key to Inclusive and Sustainable Economic Growth and Development”

@AmakeTT: As a ministry, we are open to working with WIN not only to support #women in #media, but also newsmakers. Women and men in politics face the same challenges as those in the media and we need to join efforts to end sexual harassment.

We had a great conversation with Hon @AmakeTT, Ministry of #Labour, who called the visit eye-opening. “We need to establish concrete measures to deal with sexual harassment across the labour force” she said. What a fantastic way to wrap up the #Malawi 🇲🇼 mission

In line with this Hon. Vera Kamtukule, @Min_of_Labour emphasized that these meetings are essential because "without vibrant industries in our countries we cannot create jobs in the region." As such it is key for the Ministers to discuss to promotion of pro-employment policies.

@Min_of_Labour I came across this on Julius Zimwanda Mithi's Facebook Page. I also happen to be a victim; my case has really taken long to resolve. @AmakeTT could you please verify if these allegations are true, and liaise with responsible authorities to address the situation.

Skills development is critical to equip and empower the youth of Malawi as a backbone support for the Malawi Economy. Key stakeholders TEVETA, NEEF and SMEDI have all been represented to brainstorm how best this National Youth Service can be developed and implemented.

The minister of Labour Honorable Vera Kamtukule and Minister of Youth and Sports Honorable Richard Chimwendo Banda, MP - Minister engaged in an inter ministerial meeting on the National Youth Service agenda.

The MW Tripartite Delegation (workers, employers and Goverment) held a meeting with Director General of the ILO, Guy Ryder on how ILO can continue its efforts to assist Malawi in achieving Decent Work in all sectors of the economy and priorities set in the Malawi 2063 Agenda.

The following key points have been adopted by delegates at the 5th Child Labour Global Conference.

Minister of Labour and the Malawi delegation are having a meeting with the delegation from Netherlands to discuss issues around implementation of the Accelerating the Elimination of Child Labour in Supply Chains in Africa (ACCEL Africa) Project in Malawi.
