People will box you into limiting identities & labels of their choosing. Your job isn’t to hustle for them to see you differently. They rarely will anyway. Your job is to anchor yourself to your authenticity & keep showing up. #AcademicChatter #AcademicTwitter @PostdocVoice

What if you met yourself where you are at today? If you greeted yourself with patience, compassion and kindness. If you let go of the expectations you have about where you should be and were curious about where you are. If you trusted you are exactly where you should be….

Rest might look like: Taking a walk, or Sitting still Putting your phone away, or Phoning a friend Reading, or Listening to music Being in community, or Being alone What’s restful for you might look different based on the day. Let your needs guide your method of rest.

Pause and check in with how you feel. Tune inward. Let go of judgement and get curious about what comes up. Notice if multiple feelings coexist. Use how you feel as data to inform how you proceed throughout your day. #fridaymorning #weekend

Consistency over intensity. What small step can you take today to lean into showing up in a way that brings you closer toward your goals?

Settle in. Close your eyes and notice the breaths weight, while also feeling it’s lightness. Notice the ebb & flow. The fullness & emptiness. The rise & fall. Notice how it can all coexist. Just like joy and grief, fragility and strength, learning and unlearning.

Take a self compassion break. Pause and offer yourself the same kindness you would show a friend. Validate your feelings. Turn empathy inward. Wrap yourself in love and care. You can do hard things. 💚💕

Just because someone is going through something more challenging than you, it doesn’t make how you’re feeling less valid. How you feel matters. Your problems are never insignificant.

You are under no obligation to remain the same person you were a year ago, a month ago, or even a day ago. You are here to create yourself, continuously.

When kids are deprived of play, their mental health suffers. Over the past 50 years, the time kids spend playing outside and inside has plummeted. They're missing opportunities to bond, build self-control, be creative, and feel joy. Free play is a key to happiness and growth.
