Really amazing work! Neuropixels has built up great spatial resolution. So is it possible that part of the “peaks” in neural recordings are results of neural-probe distance change, rather than the transmembrane potential change?

@SteinmetzNeuro Really great work, thank you! 👏 Even if the transmembrane potential distribution is steady along time, the change of neuron-probe distance could induce “peaks” in the neural recordings. So, does this relative distance change attributes to the recorded action potential “peaks”?
