It is ok to adapt along the way of the path you chose to be able to keep moving forward. Just know these adaptions will change you. Make sure the choices you make match the person you are before you find out you have abandoned your true self. It’s hard to turn back to something you abandoned so chose wisely and let your heart be a strong guide. It’s not always the obvious choice to follow.
