@LilySlade8 We then flipped back to A6665 in the same volume and that finally gave us a pattern 😊 It looks like the saucer matches perfectly to yours, but the cup is shown with simple gold bands on the lip and base and with a gold motif down the handle, so quite different to yours. [2/3]

@MintonArchive please can you confirm if this mustache cup is made by Minton ? It's missing this saucer but is beautifully hand painted with 151 0 marked on the bottom.

@AlexSte20321009 but by chance these have all been from loose pages, rather than the more fragile bound portions. We'd definitely like to make some photograph books accessible in the catalogue, but doing this whilst still keeping the documents safe is the key. Hope that explains things! [2/2]

@AlexSte20321009 Hi Alex, I'm afraid we don't have any of the shape photograph books fully digitised at present, as most are in very poor condition (notes on this sometimes appear in their entries). You might've seen that we've included shapes from MS1621 a few times recently on the blog [1/2]

🎄Merry Christmas one and all!🎄 We've left our traditional festive catch-up veeeery late this year, but if you've been here for any part of December you'll know why 😉 If you need a moment of calm today, why not reminisce over the year of Minton with us? themintonarchive.org.uk/merry-christma…

It's Christmas Eve and we've just revealed the final Majolica Box item on our anniversary advent calendar, meaning this very special folio is now viewable online in its entirety! Not a bad way to conclude our website's 10th anniversary celebrations 🥳 themintonarchive.org.uk/10au-the-majol…

Our penultimate Majolica Box advent calendar reveal is another design "coloured for the women to work from", a stunning artwork that was sensitively cleaned and conserved as part of our Majolica International Society & @TheNMCT -funded work programme: themintonarchive.org.uk/10au-the-majol…

Christmas is fast approaching, and so too is the end of our Majolica Box advent calendar 😭 This is no time to be maudlin however - not when we can explore today's wonderful artwork and see its various annotations to help with "colouring by the women": themintonarchive.org.uk/10au-the-majol…

There've been 3 full weeks of daily Majolica highlights now; don't you wish they could go on forever?! Alas, that's not how advent calendars work, nor do we have an infinite supply of majolica artworks... more's the pity, when they can look like this: themintonarchive.org.uk/10au-the-majol…

There are only four days left in our anniversary advent calendar, and behind today's door is an incredible garden seat design - we've definitely saved the very best for this final part of our Christmas countdown! 🎄🗓️🎄themintonarchive.org.uk/10au-the-majol…

Day 18 of our unique 10th anniversary advent calendar features a jug design in a similar colour and style to the "Water Gods" plate artwork from day 9 - so of course we put them next to each other on our virtual tabletop 🤓 themintonarchive.org.uk/10au-the-majol…

Designed by Minton artist Thomas Kirkby for a large circular dish, today's advent artwork features a highly detailed centre - perfect for exploration via our hi-res viewer! - depicting a scene from the Greek myth The Judgment of Paris: themintonarchive.org.uk/10au-the-majol…

@JohnAcid And cherubs too! They really did love a slightly creepy/inappropriate cherub 🫣 We try and steer clear of those as much as possible 😬🤣

@MintonArchive The top left shows very well the great interest Victorians took in sticking large 'boobies' on every ornamental creature that they illustrated 😱🤣

Behind today's advent calendar door is a rather more technical-looking artwork than some of the others we've seen so far, with a couple of plan sections included and plenty of guide lines keeping everything straight and true: themintonarchive.org.uk/10au-the-majol…
