I wanted to take a moment to recognize the true heroes of @furfest #mff the housekeeping teams. I spent some time speaking with Miriam, who shared how much she loves MFF. She told me the convention is absolutely amazing and that she looks forward to it every year. She’s been cleaning during MFF for the past 19 years, and she thinks the community is incredible. She genuinely appreciates the craftsmanship of every fursuiter, the friendliness, and watching the event grow year after year. Here’s to the unsung heroes who keep our cons clean, running smoothly, and put up with all our paws!

@AscariHusky_ I think this is really a case by case basis. If I was a suiter partaking in a fursuit family photoshoot it’s because I’m proud to be part of that fursuit family and if it benefits the maker of my suit then so be it. Most makers don’t have the money to dump into marketing costs.

If you're part of a fursuit family and the suiters have to pay for the group photo the photos SHOULD NOT be used by the maker for their site or other promotional purposes. If the maker didn't pay for the photos they SHOULD NOT profit from it if YOU pay for them.

I respectfully disagree and think this perspective is overly narrow. If the same logic were applied consistently, then blacksmiths within the community creating blades would also be considered “weird” for producing objects historically associated with harm yet most people would recognize how unreasonable that sounds. It’s also inaccurate to claim that firearms are exclusively made for harming people. In the United States, there are an estimated 400 million civilian-owned firearms, the vast majority of which are owned for sporting purposes such as hunting, marksmanship, or collecting. An overwhelming majority of these firearms will never be used to harm another person. Framing individuals as “weird” simply for showcasing lawful, owned items especially collectibles or sporting equipment doesn’t contribute to a respectful or thoughtful discussion. If this community values openness and acceptance, that principle should extend to differing interests as well, even when they fall outside personal comfort zones.

My car got towed because my apartments parking lot sold the rights to a company to make a few extra bucks. They towed my car a half mile down the road and charged me 400 dollars to get it back. What a sham.

I challenge you guys to an act of kindness . At your next fur meet if you see someone alone not talking with anyone visibly nervous go say hi! They didn’t drive out to a fur meet just to sit around they’re just too anxious to converse!
