Nothing will ever capture what make The Sims works cuz they focus too hard and lean heavy into The Sims 3 look of trying to be realistic as possible and just end up looking like shovelware trash. They have no "soul" or cartoony look to it like Sims 2 & 4, or any kinda of overall aesthetic like with the base game of all entries. Even Sims 1 still holds up compared to these competitors, with the game being incredibly cynical in tone and Retro vibes.

This won't be an industry plant. There's an entire section of the world that plays The Sims, and EA have basically said "no more Sims sequels" so anyone that plays those games are going to flock to any alternative at record pace (Then abandon it in a months time like inZOI)

@OwlLunch I think the laser eyes form a cool parallel with Homelander but the evolution towards the tentacles from overreliance portrays the self destructive side and part of him that wasn't just going to stop with Homelander, lending itself to be more thematically powerful and better
