On 3rd April 1984 - 42 years ago at our home in Chandigarh terrorists assassinated my father Dr ( Professor) VN Tewari. He was only 48 years old. A scholar, author, poet and a Parliamentarian he espoused the cause of Punjab, Punjabi and Punjabiyat - the shared syncretic ethos of Hindus and Sikhs living together in harmony. Only some get to live and die for their convictions and therefore become eternal and immortal.

Glad to note that reconstruction work of roads in Deep Complex commenced yesterday out of my MPLADS funds. I thank Kaptain Singh , Jwala Singh , Kripanand Thakur, Jha ji @MirWasim21 and other colleagues for pursuing it zealously . Actually the maintenance of roads in the villages of Chandigarh must be done by @MCChandigarh and MPLADS should be used for more constructive purposes.

Chandigarh is a Union Territory directly under the Central Government, @ManishTewari raising this serious issue in Parliament. In Chandigarh, out of nearly 200 doctor posts, only about 20 are permanent while more than 180 are on deputation .A Union Territory with nearly 15 lakh people and called a Smart City, this situation is truly shameful. Ownership rights to people living in Rehabilitation Colonies must be granted immediately. 2. Need based changes in Chandigarh Housing Board Residential buildings must be allowed immediately. Frivolous notices must stop. 3. Lal Dora alias Lal Lakir alias Red Line in the 22 villages must be erased immediately. 4. Share wise sale of Property in entire CHANDIGARH MUST BE OPENED IMMEDIATELY. 5. Issues and challenges of Cooprative Housing and Group Housing societies must be addressed with dispatch. 6. A MASS RAPID TRANSPORT SYSTEM-MRTS FOR CHANDIGARH MUST BE ACTIONED AT THE EARLIEST. 7. AN INTERNATIONAL FINANCE CENTRE ON LINES OF GIFT CITY MUST BE ESTABLISHED AT THE EARLIEST. 8. THE GOVERNENCE STRUCTURE OF MUNICIPAL CORPORATION CHANDIGARH MUST BE RADICALLY OVERHAULED AND THE MAYOR SHOULD BE ELECTED FOR O5 YEARS BY ALL THE PEOPLE OF CHANDIGARH.
