Upsetting people with gender =/= sex arguments is always an interesting experience. Apparently the same people that can call their car a woman or give their favourite sky fairy a gender despite them being genderless and sexless by nature struggle with the idea that you can do the same with people. This just in: If you can name your Dodge charger Betty and call your car a she/her, you can do the same for people who ask you to use specific pronouns.

I remember publically calling out a relatively well-known artist for using gen AI and dodging accusations, and I was called a clout chaser because I was a bigger artist who didn't personally know them. They were recently exposed for using gen AI again. Still no apologies given, not from them or to me from people who villainized me for addressing the concerns. Everyone agrees that gen AI has no place in the creative art community, but very few have the backbone to actually call people out when they see it exactly because of this.

I truly don't think you guys know what clout chasing is, like you worry way too much about it over small interactions. Raiding someone or sending a single message to hang out isn't clout chasing. It's a lot more nuanced and contextual than a simple act. So stop overthinking.
