Dies schuf den Raum, sicherheitspolitische Mythen zu kreieren. Jetzt, wo es darum geht, sicherheitspolitische Verantwortung in einer neuen europäischen Sicherheitsarchitektur möglicherweise ohne die Unterstützung Amerikas zu übernehmen, wird der Handlungsspielraum für Sonderwege und Trittbrettfahrerei strukturell geringer und deutlich gefährlicher.
