Something else—something odd—happened: last Saturday, I had 11,100 followers. On Sunday, I gained 692 new followers, but 22 previous followers unfollowed me. So, I had a net gain of 670 followers. Starting from 11,100 on Saturday, the count should have shown at least 11,700 followers by Monday—or Tuesday at the very latest. But X didn't show that. It showed 11,200 on Sunday, and today—because I gained a few more followers over the last three days—it rose to 11,300. It’s all very strange, and it likely has to do with the fact that my account is directed against China—or rather, Communist China.

I can well believe that; I can confirm something similar. Up until last Sunday, I was seeing steady growth. Most recently, I’d gained 600 new followers and a huge number of likes. Then suddenly—even though nothing had changed—there was a total nosedive: 15 new followers on Monday, 17 on Tuesday. Very few likes, very few impressions. I suspect China’s fifth column on X has gone into action.
