My friend lent this book and it was incredibly thought provoking. The voice, the tone, the characterisation was just perfect.

Some of our amazing Lit in Colour collection. Diversity and representation should be at the heart of what we do in the library and I am so happy we have such a great selection to promote just that!

@LeonieMarieLock I have such high expectations. I have only heard great things and I loved Seven Husbands, it was an easy 5 stars!

My current TBR. So many books and so little time, but these are a few of the books I have on high priority!

The Housekeeper and the Professor, 5/5 A slow-paced character study, with beautifully evocative writing. Even as a maths hater, I loved the way maths is used to navigate the uncertainty of a life with limited memory. An incredibly thought-provoking read.

4.5/5 Murakami's writing is incredibly evocative. I loved the sincerity and depth with which Murakami writes about the human experience, as well as the ambiguous morality of its plot. However, the novel was dominated by a male gaze that was difficult to digest.
