I had the most mesmerising day yesterday taking 100 of out @CN_Year5 and @CN_Year6 pupils to @YVconcerts A stadium full of 8500+ pupils having the most amazing musical experience. Thank you so much to all involved, at the concert, from our school and the families that watched

Couldn’t be prouder of each and every pupil involved in this show. The passion, dedication and commitment they show to our department is incredible. I’ve had the best time being able to share this experience with them. Sad it’s over, incredibly happy that it happened!

@Steven_Berryman The only downside we’re running into is when our secondary school welcomes pupils from outside the school in year 7, we really notice the difference in musical ability and it makes differentiation a bigger challenge. Feels like a great problem to be having at the moment though!

@MrLSkeel @MissEGreen14 I’d love to know @MissEGreen14 if you think it’s a good model and any strengths/possible challenges in duplicating this approach.

Anyone know a classroom music teacher in a state school that teaches nursery to KS4? Would love to hear from anyone looking for such an opportunity.

@Steven_Berryman I think it’s an amazing model, we are able to nourish musical ability from the minute they enter our school and really ensure we see steady, and fast, progression. We can also better monitor peri uptake and extra curricular retention.
