🇱🇧 🎼 Though ‘Musical Legends’ live on for generations, we say ‘Farewell & Thank you’ today 3-26-2026 to a son of Lebanon; Ahmad Kaabour - who sang for Lebanon & its Capital; Beirut especially! 🇱🇧 One can’t help but smile, when any video clip and catchy tunes appear on the screen, of the late Lebanese musician; Ahmad Kaabour. His voice and melodies remain etched in Lebanon's cultural memory. Amongst his most iconic works, ‘La Eyoonak’ (in the clip below 👇) stood as a heartfelt dedication to the beloved late Lebanese Prime Minister; Rafik El Hariri. #Hariri Kaabour was closely associated with Mr. Hariri’s Lebanese TV Channel: Future TV @futuretvleb - and for so many years his heartfelt songs accompanied by very animated video clips, seemed to tell the viewer stories of better days gone by for the country. Singing with such emotion and amusement and always in his signature ‘Tarboosh’ hat - one couldn’t help but sing along any time his clips were on air! He was… as we say in Arabic ‘light on the heart’ (khafeef) in all his artistic expressions. It was such an honor in my Publishing career in meeting Mr. Jackson! ✍🏻 📰 This International Diplomat & Humanitarian, leaves a huge legacy defined by his transition from a frontline Civil Rights activist to a transformative figure in American politics. His career spanned over seven decades of ‘citizen diplomacy’ successfully negotiating hostage releases when official government channels had stalled. His legacy also included Presidential Runs - paving the way for future leaders like President @BarackObama 🇺🇸 His legacy also included being awarded the highest civilian honor in the United States, by President @BillClinton 🇺🇸 The ‘Presidential Medal of Freedom’ which recognized Jackson’s creative power, keen intellect, loving heart & relentless passion for Diplomacy.
