#ZamaCreatorProgram

Registrations are open for the 5th Annual @fhe_org Conference on Fully Homomorphic Encryption, colocated with Real World Crypto 2026 in Taipei, Taiwan, on March 8, 2026. As with last year, students can register for free by emailing contact@fhe.org from their academic email address. Sponsors can also participate still by emailing with their proposals! This year there will only be 200 seats available, so reserve them early! #FHE #homomorphicencryption #fhe2026 #taiwan

FHE – Bringing Web3 Closer to the Web2 Experience In Web2, data is always processed in cleartext: • Facebook scans your messages to analyze behavior • Banks read your entire transaction history to assign you a credit score The trade-off? You must unlock your raw data for these systems to work. Privacy = close to zero 1) Why Web3 needs a leap? Previous solutions tried to bridge the gap: • ZK (Zero-Knowledge Proofs) -> prove something is true without revealing data. But usually limited to specific conditions • MPC (Multi-Party Computation) -> multiple parties compute together without seeing the whole picture. Secure, but costly and complex • TEEs (Trusted Execution Environments) -> rely on hardware enclaves like Intel SGX, but they’ve been repeatedly hacked 2) How FHE is different Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) allows computation directly on encrypted data: • Apps and blockchains never see the raw data • Only the key holder can decrypt the final result -> In other words: privacy is by default, not optional 3) A simple analogy • Web2 (Bank loan): To prove you earn enough, you submit your full payslip • Web3 + FHE: The system computes on the encrypted payslip and only returns “Eligible” or “Not eligible.” Nobody sees your actual salary 4) The performance breakthrough @zama_fhe just announced a new milestone (2025): • 2021: 53 ms per bootstrap (CPU) • 2025: ~0.945 ms (GPU, 4-bit message) 5) Why it matters for Web3? • DeFi -> credit scoring and lending on private user data • Gaming -> actions remain hidden, only valid outcomes are revealed • Identity -> prove “I’m over 18” without showing your birthday 6) Takeaway Web2 forced us to choose between utility and privacy With FHE, Web3 has a shot at delivering both at the same time This might just be the missing privacy layer the industry has been waiting for over a decade
