Just going to put this out there since Twitter is where it began... We now have a draft of THE CROSSING OVER EXPRESS feature. I want to make it independently, low budget, the way we made the short. We have had multiple folks reach out about developing it as a studio movie, but every other project I have in that space has taken years and still may never start production. I refuse to wait on this one. The short has been seen by millions of people and I still get a message at least once a week from someone who has been affected deeply by it. If you are a person who can help make that happen (IE could finance it or knows someone who could finance it) and would like to be a part of many more people experiencing it... don't hesitate to reach out.

Last night I got a really great reminder of why you should go make your thing. People will tell you all day like not to waste your time on shorts but I have gotten more opportunities, more doors opened, and more reach out's from heroes off one ten minute short than any of the produced features I've written. It all comes down to making something that connects with people, be it a feature, short, novella, etc...

My mom died when I was 17. I only have a handful of pictures and zero videos of her. A couple years ago, on my birthday, I got a text from a number I didn’t recognize. It simply said “happy birthday” with a YouTube link. I clicked it and my heart stopped. It was my mom. I had to pull over immediately. She was telling me how proud she was of me and how she wondered what I’d become. Maybe a policeman, a preacher, or even a clown. I couldn’t believe it. Well, it turns out the random phone number was my friend Jon’s dad, who had found this video on an old VHS tape they made before a 1999 school event. I was 16. This experience got me thinking... what if we could have one last conversation with someone we lost? 🚛 The Crossing Over Express is now on @X 👻
