On leadership recruitment-‘We reward the people who dominate the conversation even though they are not actually better at leadership- often their worse, they fail to learn from the other voices in the room. We are mistaking their confidence for competence. We need to change that.

The SEND system is buckling on every level. It takes far too long to get an initial assessment. The number of pupils with EHCPs has risen and funding hasn't kept pace. It all causes distress to children, families and school staff, and they deserve better. theguardian.com/education/2024…
