Children had a great time yesterday for our Magic Marble Madness afternoon in celebration of filling our marble jar for the last time. We had marble races in teams and predicted which would win. We even created some of our own marble runs. @MabLanePri @MissMyersMLP

The children have finished their final maths lesson working on telling the time to the hour. Super stars! We know how to use the minute and hour hand on a clock to show this. @MabLanePri @MrScarrMLP

It’s celebration time! In history the children learned about Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation. We had our own coronation party and decorated cupcakes, made flags and crowns and even tried coronation chicken sandwiches! @MabLanePri @MrsFarleyMLP

The children tried really hard in Tennis this week by practicing their volley technique. They used cones to catch and then practiced with the racket. The children knew they had to always keep their eye on the ball @MabLanePE

In history we learned about World War 2 and the role Queen Elizabeth II played. To learn more we discussed the effects of the war and what we would do in an air raid. The children loved using props and building their own shelters in different ways @MabLanePri @MrsFarleyMLP 🚨

In DT we learned how to juice and cut fruits safely. We were able to use the bridge method when cutting the oranges, limes, lemons, bananas and strawberries. We got to eat lovely fruit and even tried drinking the juices! 😖😂🍓🍊🍋🍋‍🟩🍌@MabLanePri @MrsSnapeMLP

Wow! We had a special visit from a police officer today for aspirations week. He answered all our questions and even let us turn on the sirens, the lights and beep the horn! 🚨👮‍♂️🚔@MabLanePri @MissMyersMLP #aspirationsweek

The children in maths today have been using numicon, straw bundles, base ten and counters to represent counting in tens to 100. We made sure to look at the tens column when looking at the number. @MrScarrMLP @MabLanePri

The children in music looked at high and low pitch. The theme of the lesson was superhero’s and the children used the glockenspiels to create their own super hero theme tune! They thought carefully about what high or low pitch keys they were using. @MabLanePri @MrsColemanMLP

The children started their new English topic using @LiteracyCounts1. We started the topic with a small world scene related to the book ‘Where the Wild Things Are’ to give the children clues about the story. @MabLanePri @MabLaneEnglish
