Hello everyone. It’s Nicole here (Sean’s wife) I wanted to let you all know that unfortunately Sean passed away yesterday, suddenly and unexpectedly. Sean was a fierce advocate for disability rights, it was his passion and his calling. He never stopped fighting for the rights of disabled people. He faced many battles in his life, and took them all on with strength and resilience I have never seen before. As many of you know and may have worked with Sean, he was intelligent, funny, warm…I could go on. Sean was also a loving and devoted husband, father, son and brother. He loved and was loved by many. As you can imagine, we are all utterly heartbroken. Keep fighting the good fight in Sean’s memory - it’s what he would have wanted. Nicole

When struggling w/depression, this world forces you into a masquerade out of fear for your safety. You have to pretend that everything is good & that you’re happy as can be. It’s heartbreaking to know that living w/depression is less frightening than admitting to struggling w/it.

I just hope, no matter how many times this world tries to turn me into a cold person, i remain soft and full of love, and never become something that once broke me. Even in a world that can be cruel, there's still room for softness that can survive, even in the hardest of places.

@Judyw561 @recovery_your Can really relate to this, and feeling like I need to justify everything and why I am the way I am. Maybe we think explaining would make others understand, but they can’t truly understand unless they can relate. We do try don’t we ❤️‍🩹

@recovery_your Why do we overshares? Drives me mad. My life story seems to be coming out of my mouth before I can stop it. Is it to try to help people understand the way I am? People really don’t want to know.

“Is today the day I die”, is a thought that crosses the mind of someone struggling with suicidal ideation every day they’re alive. Do you know how difficult it is to keep a smile on your face and happiness in your heart when your mind is telling you to die?

There’s amazing staff, but the staff that can affect patients, parents and their own staff need to be gone. You can’t learn to have morals at working age, you either have them or don’t. This is terrible, why is it that complaints aren’t dealt with properly?? 😞 how do they learn??

After @CwmTafMorgannwg threatened me because of my Twitter posts they then blocked me after I told them I’m not taking threats for standing up for myself and my disabled children especially Jaxon who they have neglected - they put in a formal complaint without my consent stating I would get the truth .. they then fobbed me off - this nhs health board are nothing but neglectful bullies who will do anything to take my disabled children in order to bully me - they even bully professionals who support me - please share 💔- why is the nhs bullying situation not trending 😔

We need more research into psychiatric medicines, more quality consultants in my opinion, not just tick lists and get out of my office Miss! Awareness of irreversible damage from these meds, but the possibility of a great benefit to patients. So…. Yes more research by scientists

I've been hearing accounts of harm caused in a healthcare context, followed by 'closing of ranks', cover up & absence of truth-telling. Seems a uniquely deep & complex trauma- the combination of the harmful event itself & the ongoing relational harm of invalidation & gaslighting.

@MissJustice1471 @AutisticCallum_ I have to think a lot about what I want to communicate and how to do it. Even as a writer I often fall flat. But writing is much better than talking bc I can reread to make sure I have made my words match and convey my feeling in a way others will understand as I meant.

Did any other autistics go through a stage of sending messages so nice and sweet that people thought they sounded sarcastic? I was so upset from hearing that my messages were ‘too blunt’ that I did a complete 180 and sent extra sweet messages, but these were read as insincere.

@CJordanFenton @AutisticCallum_ Can SOOO relate to this, although in the moment it’s easy for me to write exactly how I’m feeling, how I’m affected, the reasons for why I need to explain myself. When it comes to official complaints, thats when I have to write a list then quote their quotes, then have it checked

@ThePOTSPostman Fatigued is not having the energy to do anything, tired is having less energy-that’s how I’d explain it??

I get frustrated when people don’t understand the feeling fatigued is not the same as being tired. So, how would you go about describing your fatigue to someone who doesn’t understand that it’s not the same as being “just tired” ?
