@MissKrisSxSW Those venues change their prices because of staff increases, sheer volume of service, and frankly, putting up with tourists who turn their whole city into a playground. If you don’t like it stop going, no one will miss your patronage to “discover new music”

ALSO: why are venue charging a tip and then still prompting for a tip? Saw this at cedar street and Empire. (empire had it as a “delivery fee” - delivery of what??)

I question how venues think they can continually gouge ppl for drinks when eventually we stop going to sxsw. Drinks are a nice to have, yes. But if you choose a venue that’s $100 to have buy 2 rounds, then sorry @britishmusicbiz I’m out.

@thesaraloretta That works fine if all you care about is free booze and food. I care about hearing good music, so free shit is a nice extra - not a draw.

@MissKrisSxSW Tips for future SXSWs: You shouldn't be buying alcohol. Focus on events that have free food/drinks, and then just tip the bartenders. I think I spent $30 in drinks/tips this year.

@CrazyBeauttiful Honestly, this!! I learned immediately to always close the first tab, so I’d at least know roughly what the prices were.
