More fun in health week 🤩

Today we were visited by two amazing DHL drivers who taught us all about Truck and Child Safety. Thank you to @MissAlexander_1 for organising it with our business partners DHL Westfield. @StPatsKilsyth @MissLHollinger

What a busy day we’ve had! This morning we made smoothies using the smoothie bike and this afternoon our Young Stem Leaders led the P1’s in a lesson about healthy eating and created fruit kebabs and fruit salads, yum! @StPatsKilsyth @SSERCprimary @YoungSTEMLeader @MrMMcGivern

Thank you to Miss Marshall from @StMauricesHE for talking to the P7’s about healthy eating. We spoke about the benefits of eating fruit and vegetables and made our own fruit bowls. We then created labels for them - a great way to start our Health Week @StPatsKilsyth @MrMMcGivern

This afternoon our amazing Young Stem Leaders led the P3 and P3/2 classes in a coding lesson. They used Scratch to create climate conversations and planet pledges! A great way to use our learning from this week #CSscot23 @StPatsKilsyth @MrMMcGivern @DigiLearnScot @SSERCprimary

Primary 7 took part in the Scratch code along today as part of #CSscot23 We created our own ‘Planet Pledges’ and discussed how we could use our learning to help with guiding the younger pupils to use Scratch through our YSL programme @StPatsKilsyth @SSERCprimary @DigiLearnScot

P7 and P7/6 joined the first live assembly of Computing Science Week Scotland! It was great to hear from the creator of Scratch, Mitch Resnick. We will now be taking part in the Scratch challenge linked to sustainability #csscot23 @MrMMcGivern @StPatsKilsyth @SSERCprimary

This morning in maths we spoke about the importance of budgeting and wrote a weekly meal plan. We are creating a shopping list by looking at the prices of groceries online. Some children are realising how hard it is to stay in their set budget! @StPatsKilsyth @SSERCprimary
