Can any History teachers recommend any good reads to expand my subject knowledge for AQA GCSE History conflict and tension - WW1 #History#historyteacher#education
As a student teacher currently on an unsalaried placement, I am in one of the highest risk groups for catching Covid, and I cannot afford to pay for LFT testing for myself. This is putting the low income population at higher risk again.
Please remember, teachers are people too. We have families, people we want to protect, our own health conditions. No teacher wants school closures, every teacher deserves a safe working environment though.

@KnightbusSci@strong_teacher@MrTs_NQTs That is where I come from, I feel like I can’t deny my students the basic right to use the bathroom. I think mentors issue is he thinks the students are taking advantage of it
@strong_teacher@MissNHistory@MrTs_NQTs No, can’t agree with that. There are additional reasons why girls may need a toilet and adjust our approach. If a period came on and I’d heard a teacher refused permission for a daughter to visit the toilet I’d be livid as a parent. It’s a basic human right.
@MrTs_NQTs any advice on toilet breaks? I teach in secondary and my mentor says I need to stop letting them go but I hate not letting them go to the toilet!

As a Cornish teacher, this both shocks and doesn’t surprise me. Remember it’s not all beaches and sunshine down here, we have some of the most deprived areas in the country. #teaching#cornwall
@mrsstxo@MrTs_NQTs I find it so hard, but don’t be afraid to follow through with the behaviour policy. And tell yourself first warning really does mean first warning and you will follow through with consequences if the behaviour continues!
