I had a very busy summer getting married to my best friend 👰🏻‍♀️ It seems like a lifetime ago now as I’ve had so much to keep me busy since ❤️

Now the staffing letter has gone out, I want to let you all know that I will be leaving Highwood this academic year! I have secured a teaching position closer to home. I am sad, but excited at the prospect of a new challenge! Highwood, it’s been a blast 🥳🥹

I had a little celebratory drink last night, to acknowledge the fact I survived another term! My mental health has taken a real hit since September, I’m not even sure how I got through it to be honest… BUT I did and I am proud 😁 So happy to have a break 🥂 #MentalHealthMatters

The govt. is, apparently, going to focus on getting ‘better’ teachers. Here’s the thing - they have the best teachers ever at the moment. The problem is that far too many leave because the same govt. has made teaching an almost impossible job.

Never have I ever needed half term more than I do this one… I need to recharge! It’s been an incredibly hard half of term but I am so grateful for the wonderful children and families I am working with this year 🥰 One more day and then SLEEEEEEEEEP 😆🥱

Black y8 girl came to me during break, crying, with her natural hair shrunk by the rain. In under 15m & with the wrong tools I got the girl out with 2 rushed cornrows. Being black & that age, hair can mean so much. This is one of the many reasons we need more #Blackteachers #BHM

Is anyone else’s class really struggling? Simple things like following instructions, listening to others without interrupting, being independent learners and playing nicely with each other. Is this the result of the pandemic? Please tell me I’m not the only one 😩 advice welcome!

@MissN_27 And how many families do you think may also relate to the rather pathetic displays of communication and interaction displayed, and the failures to identify/investigate underlying issues or just the bigger picture that they are but tiny humans.

So so disappointed with our trip to @victors_Rest in Oxford today. We booked the bottomless brunch, which, let me tell you, was certainly not bottomless😂 The portions were so tiny, we were so hungry after and it took so long to get refills on our Prosecco… Very underwhelming😢

And this is why I love my job… I spent the afternoon with sand between my toes and enriching the lives of our future generation 🥰 They were so happy to feel the sand on their little feet 😁🦶🏻 #EYFS #edutwitter #earlyyearsclassroom
