They used some if not all of that money for other company costs including bonuses and dividends. That £1.1bn formed part of the WINEP programme, a legally binding commitment to the @EnvAgency to deliver a certain number of clean up projects by 2025. @thosethatcan Recent long books I’ve loved have been Hamnet and The Act of Oblivion by Robert Harris. Also loved the List of Suspicious Things which is more normal in length!
