While casually teaching a Y4 class today, we paused for 5 minutes of mindfulness after both recess and lunch. It was amazing how effective those 5 minutes were at settling students and helping them to enter a calm and positive headspace!! #ACUedu_p

“Miss Shaw, I dressed up like you for Dress Like a Teacher Day!” I received the biggest compliment today, especially as a casual teacher. Apparently dressing up like Miss Shaw means a giraffe necklace and a tucked in shirt! #acuedu_p

Casually teaching in the last week of the term means I get left lots of art and religon lessons to cover. Today in Year 6, we did a guided drawing/painting. I was so impressed with how they turned out! #acuedu_p

While covering a Year 4 class today, I challenged my students to write pangrams, sentences which use EVERY letter of the alphabet at least once. Such a fun writing activity that challenged students to consider complex sentences and synonyms!! #ACUedu_p

So proud of how much my Kindy students have learned about Data over the last few weeks! This was independently created! #proudteacher #ACUedu_p

I’ve tried something similar with my extension writing students in Kindy. It has been so helpful having a visual reminder for students! #ACUedu_p

We’re studying the Daintree Rainforest in our integrated unit this fortnight, and students had a blast creating the layers of the rainforest for our display. We also made binoculars to see those animals hiding way up in the emergent layer! #playbasedlearning #ACUedu_p

Last week, I introduced a checklist for my upper-level writing group in Kindy. Today - “Miss Shaw, tomorrow I’m going to remember my full stops and adverbs!” Self reflection is what it’s all about! #ACUedu_p
