The Myanmar junta sentenced former student leader and democracy activist Ko Lin Htet Naing, aka Ko James, to three years’ imprisonment on an incitement charge on Wednesday. He has also been charged with terrorism, which carries a maximum sentence of life in prison.

What has the int' community done to stop the executions of these young activists? They deserve more than statements of concern or condolences. If the military gets away with these executions again, they will normalise using death penalty against anyone who speaks out against them

The int'l community took very little action after the execution of 4 political prisoners in July. If the military gets away with executing more democracy activists, they will continue to use the death penalty to kill anyone who opposes them. Int'l community must act!

The Burmese military sentenced 7 students to death for their anti-coup movement. These young activists stood up for freedom & democracy in Burma, they were falsely accused & didn't receive fair trial. The int'l community must do everything they can to stop these executions.

A revolving door of political prisoners keeps spinning in Burma. A prominent peace activist, Saw Phoe Khwar was released on 15 Nov just to be rearrested on the same day. Many of those who released last week face similar threat. According to @aapp_burma, 12,976 pp still in jail.
