Amazing 2 days with @NFLUKIRE 🏈👌 35 teachers from schools across Cambs & PBoro attended an Intro to Flag Football course to help embed the sport within their school’s curricular and/or extra curricular offer.
Huge thank you to Toshane & Jared who were amazing as usual. 🔥

Has anyone set homework for ks3 students for PE? Don’t want loads of paper flying around, in need of some ideas please! #edutwitter #pe #homework #pe

As the FA launches it's new Womens and Girls strategy today, the ESFA is proud to be working towards the participation and equal access ambitions that the strategy outlines. With entry points to the game through confidence building pilot programmes, intra-mural football in schools, festival activity, local, county and national competitions and an international squad at U15, we hope to give every school a suitable way to engage.

It’s the end of #ADHDAwarenessMonth and in true ADHD fashion, I’ve put off writing this the whole month. 🧵
The diagnostic criteria for ADHD is centred around hyperactivity, impulsivity and inattention (though it’s more an inability to regulate our attention).
There is SO MUCH MORE to ADHD than those three words, like...
• Emotional dysregulation
• Poor working memory
• Difficulty with organisation
• Risk taking behaviours
• Our brains just never shutting off!

We had a friend join us in the department of the afternoon… Frederick the hedgehog, rescued from outside the changing rooms. He was picked by a hedgehog welfare officer to make sure he was okay 🦔 #edutwitter

@MR_OWEN_PE @MrTs_NQTs It’s deffo not my new mentor he is so lovely I think it’s probably placement trauma 🫣
English

@MissWells_PE @MrTs_NQTs Have you spoken to your mentor about this? Are they the cause of anxiety? I've heard pple sometimes film themselves, maybe do this pre-observation to self-reflect and change things?
English

As an ECT observations still make me so anxious, in hindsight placement 2 was fuelled by anxiety every single day. I really want to start to change this any ideas, I’m stuck??!! #ECT #PE #edutwitter @MrTs_NQTs
English

@MissWells_PE Rather than a one off extended observation. It will help reduce the pressure and probably provide a better picture of you as a teacher over time.
English

@Kate_KDilks @MrTs_NQTs It’s not a test you’re right. I think I sometimes think it’s a pass/fail when that’s not the case, it’s more of a what can I do better next time.
English

@MissWells_PE @MrTs_NQTs totally agree, @MrTs_NQTs.
Sometimes our fear is ‘getting it wrong’ or ‘not being good enough’.
But, observations shouldn’t be a test - they should be a growth and learning opportunity.
Reframe it: the feedback is to make me a better teacher. We all want the best for kids.
English

@MrWalkerPrimary @MrTs_NQTs Will be keeping simple in my head for future obs, thank you!
English

@MissWells_PE @MrTs_NQTs Try to not overthink it and don’t plan something out of the ordinary. Keep to the same routine for the children and try to be yourself
English

@MrTs_NQTs Deffo doesn’t help I’m a perfectionist! I completely froze teaching badminton today, a sport I like to think I am good at teaching usually. I looked at my mentor and said I don’t know what to do (mid lesson). I planned so knew what I was doing so I was really annoyed at myself :/
English

@MissWells_PE Being observed can be really daunting! It is because you care and want to do well. First or all try to separate the observation from you as a person. Don't take the feedback personally, both you and the observer have the same goal of getting the best from the pupils.
English

@ITeachingtips @MrTs_NQTs See I tell myself this and this is in my mind all the time but I go all hot and clammy it’s horrid, I can also feel myself go bright red sometimes which is so embarrassing 😂
