How do people teach AQA GCSE PE NEA Coursework? Looking at ways that are easier to deliver and structure lessons, but intrigued to know how other schools do this!

I have a Head of Year interview this week. Any words of advice, tips or ideas on potential interview questions? I have a formal interview and a safeguarding task.

Held a parent/carer revision information evening tonight. Students sat next to their families. They made notes together. They summarised. They reiterated. They shared ideas. Would highly recommend. Would you like the slides?

Does anyone have any tips or resources to help with a sixth form student who has lost motivation and lost their spark? Being benched in football outside of school has really knocked his confidence and self-esteem and he’s in a bit of a slump. Really want to support him with this.

@cpatersonPE Thanks Carla! Will look into getting somebody external come in. A very boy-heavy group with very little attention and motivation so it’s tricky. Would love to trust them by going outside and being more hands on, but also keeping them contained in the classroom is best thing..

@Miss_BPE So I’ve just started this for the first time. I’ve tried to make it hands on as possible! For the intrinsic and extrinsic we did a lot of risk assessing outside the classroom and then we have a NHS physio coming in for the the rehabilitation

@eastetbrookadam Thanks Adam! Really going to have to be on it with my planning in week 1. I’m leading DofE, a year 8 camp and a sports leaders course too so got a lot on as well as clubs and fixtures. Hope you’re all ok!

@Miss_BPE Tough one. I had a similar situation last year. I tried to ring-fence as much of my break/lunchtime to relax, switch off, talk to colleagues and do as little admin as possible. Most ‘non-teaching’ non urgent tasks were completed in my less busy week where possible.

On my week 2 timetable I have 1 free on Monday period 3 and that’s it for the entire week. Any tips on how to survive this week of my timetable with clubs and fixtures too!!? Scared of a burnout 😣

@MissHealyPE Thanks Lou! I’ve questioned it but there is literally nothing that can be done. We’re only a department of 4 with 1 ECT and 1 part time so whenever they’re teaching, I’m teaching 😭

@Miss_BPE My timetable (Week B) said I was supposed to teach 6 periods a day for all 5 days, on top of clubs, duty and fixtures...no way was it doable so they're going over the timetables and making changes! Can you see if any changes can be made?

@PBarnesPE Thank you! I’m going to speak to my HoD but we are a department of 4 (3 full time) so it means my club just won’t run 😭

@Miss_BPE Maybe limit some of your clubs to the other week?

@Miss_BPE @MrTs_NQTs Can you have a revision session after school each week until the exam? Focus on teaching them to deconstruct the questions. I've also done a power hour the day of the exam to remindstudebrs of key skills/techniques when tackling questions.

Due to the 2 bank holiday Mondays, I only see my Year 11s twice until their exam after Easter. What can I do in these 2 hours to maximise preparation and secure confidence before their exam? #ECT @MrTs_NQTs
