What a wonderful world 💚✨ Descriptive words from Louis Armstrong helped paint vibrant images in our minds today. Probably my favorite way I’ve ever taught imagery. So many vivid drawings which will lead us into our descriptive writing this unit! @AmberCook_ @Jeffrey_hogan

One of my favorite parts about #ConsciousDiscipline is the Time Machine. It’s never too late to repair conflict with a classmate when you can go back in time with the Time Machine. Students role played scenarios, and navigated the steps to repair. @elmwoodes

#OurElmwood has some writers in the house!! Not only were our writers’ stories detailed, labeled, and sequenced, they were so enjoyable. To make it BETTER the audience was actively listening, engaged, and had insightful questions for our authors. @elmwoodes

First week of first grade: ✔️ During math all week, students practiced skip counting by 2s and recognizing mathematical patterns in their work. They made their own paper twin pops and then after all their hard work, enjoyed their own twin pop! 💚 @elmwoodes #OurElmwood
